DAY 1: TRI-SERVICE VETERANS SUPPORT CENTRE TRIP TO POLAND.
Day 1: Saw the veterans and their veterans spending a lot of time travelling. The veterans and their families left sunny Stoke at 10 am by car to Crewe. Train to airport terminal before finding out there was a 2-hour delay to the flight. This meant the veterans were on a night flight Krakow. Picking up minibus pretty straightforward, and a quick hassle free drive to the hotel.
The biggest letdown was that due to the delay the veterans missed their planned Polish meal at the only bar open and there was no alternative restaurant within walking distance. A couple of local beers and off to bed they went. The plan for Day Two as to venture into Krakow, with a guided tour of Auschwitz too.
