DAY 2: KRAKOW AND GUIDED TOUR OF AUSCHWITZ.
The veterans awoke to a varied breakfast after a good full nights sleep at Hotel Krakus.
The morning was spent visiting the city centre of Krakus, admiring the architecture and picking up the odd gift or two. The morning ended with a well-deserved coffee before heading off to a guided tour of Auschwitz at 1130hours. I could go on for hours about this experience, but I won't. It was all we expected. Moving, shocking, enlightening are a few words that describe this experience. The tour lasted four hours and our guides final words were "Everyone at some point in their lives, needs to visit this place. Just to show how cruel and shocking man can be, and help stop anything like this happening again."
The evening was spent having a proper evening meal together in Krakow reflecting on the day's experience. A few drinks at the hotel before retiring for the evening ahead of a busy day tomorrow.
