Helping people end their misery, not their lives

People who feel suicidal often express that they don’t truly want to die—they simply wish for the pain and misery to cease. However, when you’re struggling, the path forward can seem obscured, making suicide appear to be the only solution. We understand that this isn’t the case; there’s always a reason to hold on.

That’s why our mission is to help people end their misery, not their lives. We provide vital life-saving services, information, and advice through our mental health helpline to assist anyone grappling with life's challenges that can lead to feelings of despair. We also offer veterans support and trusted tools that provide practical ways to manage your mental health. Our commitment extends to campaigning for the knowledge and skills necessary to unite against suicide. If you or someone you know needs help, please contact the veterans centre or reach out to our helpline.

Shout Text Service

85258

Shout is the UK's first and only free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging service for anyone who is struggling to cope. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, you can also contact the veterans centre for additional support.

As a digital service, Shout became vital during Covid-19, as one of the few mental health helplines able to operate normally during this time. We have seen the need for our veterans support and mental health services remain high through the UK's cost of living crisis.
